The definition of an armoire can be multiple depending on individual perception and choice of words. Nonetheless, they hint at the same object.

But do not be fooled by outward appearance, as they may be repainted.

I would personally prefer to buy an armoire in a ‘less-good' condition with its first paint rather than a repainted work with a sleeker look.
